About

Launched in 2021 Wyrd Science covers tabletop games, their culture and how they influence and are influenced by the world around us. What that very roughly means is that across our first seven issues we've covered everything from the graphic design and art of MÖRK BORG to the politics of boardgames, the literary roots of Ravenloft to the hauntology of early Warhammer.

We've spoken to the people behind some of the biggest tabletop games around today and those who've just printed their first zine, interviewed artists using human skin as a canvas for their tabletop game inspired art and the owners of bars trying to bring a touch of fantasy into the real world.

We believe that games can be fun, stupid, enlightening, enraging, ephemeral and deeply profound and that the best can often be all of those within the space of a few minutes. Fundamentally we believe that space wizards and sentient jellies should be given the respect they deserve.
